Podcasts originated with Apple's software, iTunes. But since its creation, podcast software and readers have proliferated significantly.
Download iTunes (Mac or PC).
Google has the GoogleReader for podcasts/rss feeds. You need to either create a Google account or have a Gmail account to use this reader. Get started.
In addition, many web browsers support RSS feeds (podcasts):
Firefox 3 (PC + Mac + Linux) uses "Live Bookmarks" to support RSS feeds.
Safari 4 (Mac + PC) supports RSS feeds.
Internet Explorer 8 (PC) supports RSS feeds.
