We are partnering with a church in Negritos, Peru, a coastal community in the westernmost part of South America.  We have teamed up with Compassion International to change the lives within this community by sponsoring children to rescue them from poverty in Jesus' name. We will also be taking ThornCreekers to visit Peru for yearly infrastructure projects.

Here's how YOU can help:

1. Sponsor a child - For $38 a month you can change the life of a child.  We have already sponsored 68 children and more will be identified soon.  Please sign up at the Let's Connect Table in the lobby to be on the list as more children become available to sponsor.

2. Support Fundraising - We are partnering up with local businesses and restaurants to create monthly events that will directly donate proceeds to the mission department.  We will also have a 5K Fun Run on June 3, 2012. (See Below)

   June 3rd, 8:00 AM at Thorncreek.  Run with Purpose!
   Join us for the inaugural Peru 5K.  Racers, Joggers, Walkers, Strollers and pets on leashes are all welcome!
   We will have prizes, free stuff, giveaways and an after race party.  Two timed race starts - 8:00AM for racers, 8:10AM for the more mellow in the crowd.

3. Support the Peru Mission Trip - We are sending a team to Negritos, Peru in July to assist the Child Development Center and perform community outreach.  If you would like to help sponsor one of our team members to go please visit the ThornCreek Peru Sponsorship page.

In addition to these two (2) areas, ThornCreek Church supports missions through the Church of the Nazarene. The Church of the Nazarene is in over 100 countries!
